Virginia devoted many years to serving others through her work. She spent over 19 years at the Wayfarer Restaurant in Woodward and 13½ years as the baker at St. Mary’s Hospital in Enid. She took pride in her work and in caring for those around her.
A woman of deep and unwavering faith, Virginia loved the Lord with all her heart. She faithfully taught Sunday School and volunteered with the Foster Grandparents Program, always drawn to children and young families. Her home was her haven. She found joy in gardening and surrounding herself with flowers, and she treasured the special sister weekends filled with laughter and lifelong bonds.
Those who knew her remember her strength, resilience, and generous spirit. She was always ready to lend a helping hand. Her greatest legacy is her family and the faith she shared so faithfully.
Her favorite Scripture was Philippians 4:6:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” This verse reflected the trust and steady faith that guided her life.
A family led graveside only service will be held at North Persimmon Cemetery in Sharon, Oklahoma on February 4th at 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Benny’s Barn, Your Family Church, or 4 R Kids.
