Obituary

Vivian Marie (Stout) Butts, daughter of Homer Olin and Effie Ellen (Hogg) Stout was born in Ellis County, OK on August 22, 1924 and passed from this life in Woodward, OK on January 9, 2013 at the age of 88. Vivian was raised in the Bishop Community and attended Bishop Schools. She graduated from Bishop High School in May of 1941.

On July 19, 1941 Vivian married Ted Butts at Arnett, OK. The couple made their home in the Bishop Community in Ellis County, OK. Four children were born to this union: Linda, Judy, Kenneth and Reta. Vivian was a homemaker and helped out with the farming and ranching. Three years ago Vivian and husband Ted moved to Providence Place in Woodward, OK where they have received loving support and care.

Vivian was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Higgins, TX. She was baptized in the early 1930's. Vivian received a Seventy-Five Year Distinguished Service Award from the Nazarene Church, for song leading, for being a Sunday school teacher and Missionary President. She enjoyed singing and often sang at weddings, funerals and baptisms. She and Ted were currently attending the Church of the Nazarene in Woodward, OK.

Vivian truly enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Busy Bee Quilting Club. She also enjoyed playing dominoes and "42" and all table games.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Effie Stout, and sister, Ila Darnell. She is survived by husband Ted Butts of Woodward, OK; daughters, Linda Nicholson and husband Bill of Higgins, TX, Judy Davis and husband Mike of Neosho, MO and Reta Horner and husband Rick of Van Alstyne, TX; son, Kenneth Butts and wife Charlie of Pontotoc, MS; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 9 nieces; 5 nephews, other family and a host of friends. Her friends and family basked in her million dollar smile.
