IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Vonalee Carron
Luthi
June 20, 1941 – June 4, 2023
Vonalee Carron (Schick) Luthi, daughter of Sam and Leah (Littau) Schick, was born on June 20, 1941 in Shattuck, OK. She left her home here to be with her Lord on June 4, 2023 at the age of 81.
She attended Shattuck Public Schools for 12 years, graduating with the class of 1959. After graduation, Vonalee was united in marriage to Bob Luthi on June 6, 1959 in Clayton, NM. They made their home southeast of Gage where they raised their four daughters, Shirlene, Sherri, Saundra, and Stephanie.
Her early family years were spent as a stay-at-home mom and homemaker. When youngest daughter, Stephanie, was 3 years old, Vonalee went to work in the banking industry. She worked for 3 years at the First State Bank of Gage and continued her career at the Shattuck National Bank for more than 30 years where she served as a Vice President, retiring in March of 2006. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Gage, OK.
Vonalee was a crafted seamstress, sewing numerous clothing articles for her daughters and granddaughters. She made the girls many prom, graduation, flower girl, and special occasion dresses constructed with detail and love. She was a precise record keeper, insuring that the farm, ranch, and day-to-day business operations were well documented.
Above all was her love and devotion for her family. She spent countless days at her daughters sporting events and continued her spectator role at the grandkids and great grandkids activities. She was always ready to travel wherever her grandsons were playing or coaching baseball. She and Bob enjoyed traveling places, especially to Utah and Branson.
One of her many cherished traits, was her ability to give advice and suggestions (solicited or unsolicited)! She especially enjoyed and treasured family time and family get togethers. She made each person feel as though they were the most important person to her. She was extremely proud of her daughters and their husbands, her grandchildren and their spouses, and her precious great grandchildren. The love and joy she brought to her family were endless. Vonalee/Mom/Grandma will be missed immeasurably.
