Wanna May (McCleery) Young was born October 13, 1921 in Mutual, Oklahoma to J.S. and Mable (Piercy) McCleery. On December 19, 2007 she passed from this life at the age of 86 years.
Wanna May grew up in the Mutual area where she attended school to the eighth grade.
On February 12, 1940 she was united in marriage to Ralph Waldo Emerson Young at Arnett, Oklahoma. Their marriage was blessed with the birth of their three children, Arleta Mae, Kenneth Gordon, and Reia Faye. The family made their home in the Vici area.
In addition to her duties as a mother and help mate to Ralph, Wanna May worked outside the home for several years as a seamstress for Trego's Clothing Store in Woodward. She was a devoted and loving mother and wife.
She enjoyed spending her leisure time tending her garden and sewing, and had a special fondness for all animals.
As a young adult, Wanna May was baptized and became a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Young; by her son, Kenneth Young; by parents, J.S. and Mable McCleery; and by brother, Jack McCleery.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are children, Arleta Randall and husband Elwin of Vici, OK and Reia Lenhart and husband Donald of Freedom, OK; grandchildren, Bryan Randall and wife Shelly, Alan Randall and wife Frances, Shelia Molsbee and husband Brian, Stephanie Gillenwaters and husband Duane, Teresa Wares, Melissa Headlee and husband Chris; by eleven great-grandchildren; by sisters, Roma Yock Garrett and Sylvia Miller; by sisters-in-law, Nora McCleery, Wilma Lee Williamson, and Faye Spake; by several nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.
