Wendal W. Hickman, son of Burton and Pauline (Whitehead) Hickman was born in Lenora, OK. on January 19, 1940.  He passed from this life in Woodward, OK. at the age of 82 years, 2 months and 1 day on March 30, 2022.  He grew up on the family farm in the Lenora community and his school years were spent in the Taloga, OK. school system where he was a member of the graduating class of 1958.  Wendal joined the U.S. Marine Corp. in 1959 and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant.   He was a Viet Nam veteran and was also stationed in Germany before his honorable discharge in 1963.  Returning stateside he settled in Oregon and was united in marriage to Susan Falkenhagen.  Three children were born to their union, a son Steven and two daughters, Amanda and Beth Ann.

While making his home in Gresham, OR., Wendal was the owner of two 7-11 stores and a manager lineman for the phone company.  For a number of years he was the camp host at various Oregon state parks.  He was an animal lover, enjoyed traveling and never missed a chance to visit or tell stories.

Wendal is preceded in death by his parents, Burton and Pauline Hickman, his daughter Beth Ann Hickman Jackson, a sister Marilee Hood, the mother of his children Susan Falkenhagen and other loved ones.

He is survived by his children, Steven Hickman and wife Lyn of Vancouver, WA. and Amanda Sherry and husband Neal of Vancouver, WA. and three grandchildren.  His brother and sisters, Eldon Hickman and wife Billie of Woodward, OK., Kathy Payne and husband Chuck of Enid, OK., Linda Jones and Patti Jo Boepple of Yellville, AR. and his special friend Katherine Karsten of Woodward, OK. Three nieces, seven nephews, other relatives and friends.
