Obituary

Wesley Herber, was born July 6, 1925, in his family home northwest of Shattuck. He passed to rest Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at the Shattuck Nursing Center in Shattuck, Oklahoma.

He was united in marriage to Virginia Lucille Booth on December 6, 1945, in Shattuck, Oklahoma, at the home of the pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist church. To this union was born one son, Leslie Jake, and three daughters, Sharon Lucille Norris, Janice Louise Beran, and Debra Kay Robertson.

Wesley "Wes" was a lifelong farmer and rancher of northwest Oklahoma on the Jacob Herber homestead. His dairy and farming were his life and livelihood along with the enjoyment he received raising his cows and calves. He was always available to help and support his neighbors or friends. Mornings and afternoons, he enjoyed having social time with his friends at the 'coffee shop.'

Family time was important to him, and particularly his wife Virginia, whether it was a family picnic or trip to visit their children or family. He was easily convinced they needed to go. Wes felt great pride in sharing his farming and ranching with his grandchildren during the summertime. He also enjoyed working for his church and church school where he served as a deacon and a school board member along with other responsibilities and positions.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Lucille Booth Herber, his parents Jacob and Mary Herber, his brothers Jake Herber, Adam Herber, Paul Herber, Alex Herber, and George Herber, and sisters Edna Redelsperger and Esther Redelsperger.

Wesley is survived by his three daughters, Sharon Norris and her husband Ken of Kingston, Oklahoma; Janice Beran and her husband Paul of Fort Smith, Arkansas; Debra Robertson and her husband Buddy Robertson of Shattuck, Oklahoma; and his son, Leslie Herber and his wife Ladonna of Shattuck, Oklahoma; grandchildren; Stacey Pinkston and her husband Chris, Jay Herber, Michael Norris and his wife Pam, Scott Norris and his wife Amber, Jeffrey Drake and his wife Anh, Timothy Drake and his wife Lydia; Bryan Robertson and his wife Kristen; Melissa and her husband Wayne Tasaka; Mike Sanders; and Kim and husband Jeremy Clayton; fifteen great grandchildren, Mikayleigh and Kaylyn Norris; Tyrell and Keltsie Herber; Heath Barton and Jacob Parnell; Julie and Joshua Drake;Kody and Bryson Robertson, Kiana, Kayne, and Taylor Tasaka; Samantha and Allie Clayton; Kelsie and Kailey Sanders; and Spencer Underwood; and many other friends and relatives.
