Wilbur "Junior"
Francis Hazelbaker
October 3, 1932 – May 28, 2024
Wilbur Francis Hazelbaker, also lovingly known as "Junior", went to be with his heavenly father on Tuesday, May 28th, 2024.
Junior was born in Putnam, Oklahoma on October 3rd, 1932 to Wilbur and Lola Hazelbaker. He grew up in Putnam with two older siblings J.C. and Wilma. After his dad passed in 1947, Junior moved to Camargo to live with his brother J.C. and Aunt Avis at age 15. In his high school years, Junior played multiple sports but particularly excelled playing baseball. It was during this time in his late high school years, that he met his wife and love of his life, Connie.
Shortly after graduating high school in 1952, Junior joined the military. His time in the army was spent serving in the Korean War as a gunner. He returned home from Korea in the summer of 1953. A few short years later, he and Connie were married in March of 1955 in Camargo, Oklahoma. They lived in Oklahoma City where Junior worked in sales for Robberson Steel company.
In 1956, Junior & Connie's first son, Neil, was born. Through the next few years, Junior worked in tractor sales for Central Oklahoma Equipment. Junior and Connie moved to Yukon during this time where they welcomed two twin boys, Lynn & Glen, in 1961. After several years at Central Oklahoma Equipment, Junior began working in the oilfield where he would eventually start his own business and retire later in life.
Junior had many passions: hunting, fishing, the Oklahoma Sooners, his family, and his faith. He was very involved in his church as a deacon and loved to spend time with his grandkids, and great-grandkids, or going out west to the farm. Junior was the brightest light, constantly making others feel special and loved. He made it clear how he felt about people and had a truly contagious and precious spirit.
