IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Willa June
Peard
September 8, 1936 – February 11, 2025
Willa June Peard, 88, of Woodward, OK, passed away peacefully at her home on February 11, 2025. She was born on September 8, 1936, in Camargo, OK, to Joseph Alexander and Letha Winona (Balfour) Peard.
Willa grew up on a ranch near Vici and attended Vici Public Schools, graduating with the Class of 1952. Shortly after, she married Jimmie Jacks on January 21, 1952, and the couple made their home in Wichita, KS. Together, they welcomed two children, a daughter, Carol, and a son, James David. Later in life Willa married Pat Cook.
From a young age, Willa was baptized and remained a devoted member of Saint Peter's Catholic Church in Woodward. She found great fulfillment in her work as a caretaker, taking pride in helping others. Willa cherished life's simple joys—spending time outdoors, admiring her flower gardens, and surrounding herself with beauty. She had a deep love for her precious poodle, Cassie, who was always by her side.
Willa was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Letha Peard, and her sisters, Twila Nix, Jo Anna Peard, and Leah Peard.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved children Carol Jacks and her companion Bing King of Woodward, OK and James David Jacks and his wife Leslie of Loveland, CO. Her legacy also lives on through her three grandchildren Jamie Lawrence and husband Bill, Stefanie Robinson and husband Eric and Clint Jacks and wife Marissa; and ten great-grandchildren Spencer, Alex, Aiden, and Mary Lawrence, Isaac and Simon Robinson, Birdie, Sunny, Darcy, and Brynn Jacks; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of dear friends.
Willa June's kindness, warmth, and love for those around her will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those who were blessed to know her.
