William B. "Buck" McNeal was born to Harry and Sally (Mayfield) McNeal on July 28, 1919 at Gage, Oklahoma. Buck passed from this life on December 24, 2008 at Shattuck, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years.
Buck attended the Gage Country School through the 8th grade. Buck enlisted in the United States Army on December 12, 1940 and ended his service for his country on August 15, 1945. He received the Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, and American Defense Service Medal. He was a member of the American Legion Association.
Buck and Molly McNeal were united in marriage and their union was blessed with a daughter, Karen. Buck lived in Gage, Sharon, Harmon, Wyoming, and Carlsbad, New Mexico, then settled in Harmon, OK. He made his living as a farmer and rancher. His special interests were working on the farm and ranch and doing mechanical work.
Buck was preceded in death by his daughter Karen, by sisters Georgia, Velma and Lola May and by brothers Clyde, Claude and Milford.
Surviving Buck is sister Harriet of Norman, OK and special friend Ione New and family of Arnett, OK, several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
