Winnie accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior and was baptized in October of 1954 in Kingfisher, OK. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Shattuck where she enjoyed helping in Bible School, teaching Sunday school, and being a member of several pulpit committees. Winnie spent many years in retail sales while living in Shattuck. She started working for Kough's Department Store in November of 1969 and worked through 1984. In 1986 Winnie began working at Ruffin's Department store and continued there through 2000. She really enjoyed the interaction with all the folks who came by to shop.
