Zeta Marie Young, 95-year-old Putnam resident, passed from this life on May 20, 2009 at the Seiling Nursing Home in Seiling, Oklahoma.

Zeta was born on September 20, 1913 in Boise, Idaho, to James and Ollie (McCracken) Foust. She was raised on a farm northeast of Putnam, Oklahoma attending the local country school.

Zeta married Cecil Ray Young on August 11, 1930, in Cordell, Oklahoma. They were blessed with four boys, Andrew, Hoy, Roy and Huell. The family lived on the farm northeast of Putnam. Later Zeta and Cecil moved to Taloga, Oklahoma in the early 1980's.

Zeta was a good mother and homemaker. She loved to plant flowers and work in the garden. She had a special place in her heart for children who had a need for love and became a foster parent to over sixty foster children in her home, where she showered them with love and care. Zeta was baptized when she was forty years old. She and Cecil were very faithful in church attendance and serving the Lord. They were members of the Assembly of God Church in Taloga.

Zeta was preceded in death by her husband Cecil Young, her parents, James and Ollie Foust, four sisters, Lillie Treton, Stella Shelton, Glaydus Rush and Lola Foust and by three brothers, Earl Foust, Ted Foust and Forrest Milsead along with three infant sisters and one infant brother.

She is survived by her four sons, Andrew Young and wife Jewel of Taloga, Oklahoma, Hoy Young and wife Merle of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Roy Young and wife Oleta of Seiling, Oklahoma and Huell Young and wife Juanita of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one sister, Wanda Lee Davis of Thomas, Oklahoma; 15 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, other family and a host of friends.
