William (Bill) Aaron Ritter, 84-year-old former resident of Shattuck, OK, passed from this life on December 7, 2018 in Mustang, OK. Bill was born November 13, 1934 to Miller and Anna Mae Ritter in Sitka, KS. He grew up in Ashland, KS attending school there and graduating with the class of 1953.
On August 21, 1955 Bill married Nancy Lea Taylor at the Methodist Church in Ashland, KS. to this union two children were born Douglas and Tamra. After their marriage the family lived in Ashland, KS, Boliviar, MO, Meade, KS and in 1966 they moved to Shattuck, OK where Bill lived until 2015. Bill was a Meter Tech for Enron and he loved hunting, fishing, golfing, and gardening.
Bill was a member of the Shattuck Golf Course and United Methodist Church where he was baptized at the age of 80 years. At the church, he was a greeter and part of the finance committee. At the age of 70, Bill was added to the Ashland Kansas High School Hall of Fame for football and track. Later in life Bill shot a hole in one at the Shattuck Golf Course. Bill will be remembered for his great smile and will be dearly missed by his friends and family.
Bill is preceded in death by his wife Nancy, parents Miller Ritter, Anna Mae Webb and step father Bob Webb, sister Delores Dickerson and her husband Frank, parent-in-law Garry and Velma Taylor, two sisters-in-law Connie Ritter and Janet Rose Edminister, three brothers-in-law Frank Carmichael, Ray Rose, and Corky Edminister.
He is survived by his children Doug Ritter and wife Teresa of Weatherford, OK and Tammy Upchurch and husband Mark of Mustang, OK; sister Wanda Carmichael of Hugoton, KS; three brothers John Ritter and wife Janice of New Braunfels, TX, Warren Ritter of Hutchison, KS and Andy Webb and wife Mona of Wichita, KS; Donna Shaw and husband Alan of Protection, KS; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter; many nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
